The Vancouver Island Region welcomed spring on March 23, 2014 with an early morning fun drive and late brunch lunch. What was anticipated to be a gathering of a small number of cars mushroomed to a significant array of 30+ assorted Porsche models and almost 60 Club Members.
Everyone arrived at Mill Bay, a nice central meeting place for members to come from Victoria and Nanaimo on beautiful Vancouver Island. From there the group went on a scenic drive, mapped out by Tyson Johnson, enjoying the curves around Shawnigan Lake, the Island Highway thru the Malahat and eventually stopping for a photo op along Elk Lake. The early spring weather was brisk but many welcomed the new season with convertible tops down. From there another scenic leg was taken along Cordova Bay ending up at the beautiful waterfront home of Bill and Donna Johnson, avid VIRPCA members. There, Victoria Porsche Centre provided a magnificent Italian lunch for all to enjoy. The hardest part was deciding to whether to eat amongst the Porsches parked in the driveway or on the patio taking in the ocean views and eagle sightings.
Ahhh, spring is here and the Porsches are happy.
