Valentine Cars & Coffee

Up Island’s usual 2nd Saturday of the month, Feb. 10 @ 10 a.m. Cars & Coffee was a special, early celebration of Valentine’s Day.  We met at the Old House Hotel & Spa, for coffee and “in house” baked cookies, where we were joined by Vanessa Metcalf, Sales Manager who gave us a tour of one of their one bedroom condo suites, with full kitchen, fireplace, and balcony with a beautiful view of the Courtenay River. They are a Pet Friendly” hotel.  We were able to see one room, as they had a full house last night!!  We visited their year round, heated outside pool, and hot tub, which also has a beautiful view of the river.  We had a brief view of their OhSpa, as it was very busy with customers, both men and women, we were unable to see one of their many rooms.
The Old House Hotel & Spa generously gave us a Gift Certificate for “1 night, for 2 in a 1 bedroom”, won by Steve & Karen Jeffery, Comox and a “$50. Gift Certificate OhSpa”to  won by Duane and Laurie Lawrenuk, Qualicum Beach. We then proceeded outside for the usual Porsche picture taking.  Followed by a well received brunch/lunch at Locals Restaurant, next door.  We had 14 members in attendance, Mike Bishton, Parksville, Edith Skiber, Deep Bay, Liz & Henry Ellis, Lorrie & Chuck Romain, Comox, and a brand new member from Comox, Richard DeLuca, who just purchased his 2012 911 Carrera Cabriolet, from Porsche Victoria.
I had gathered together some more goodies for draw prizes. Mike and Richard won the hard cover book, “ORIGINALE 01\News and products from Porsche Classic”, Edith a bottle of red wine, and Lorrie & Henry each won a genuine German beer stein.  All the ladies received a Purdys chocolate heart.  A happy noise level with coffee and cookies, followed by lunch, a good time was had by all, under beautiful sunny skies, not snow, as predicted. Thank you to Vanessa for your two draw prizes and taking the pictures.
