Who is Vic Elford?

Born in London, Vic Elford was one of the fastest drivers during the Sixties and Seventies and a Porsche factory driver from 1967 through 1971. Nicknamed “Quick Vic” by his peers, Vic is arguably one of the most versatile racing drivers of all time. Vic raced for Ford, Triumph, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Chaparral, Shadow, Cooper, Lola, Chevron, Subaru, McLaren and Chevrolet.

Vic’s Significant Career Accomplishments are:
• Only driver to race every version of Porsche 917
• Hired by Steve McQueen for “Le Mans” film
• 1 of 4 to win at Nürburgring 6 times
• 1967 European Rally Champion
• 1968 Monte Carlo Rally winner
• 1968 Daytona 24 Hour winner
• 1968 Targa Florio winner
• 1968 F1 French GP 4th place
• 1968, 70, 71 Nürburgring 1000 winner
• 1971 Sebring 12 Hour Winner
• Can Am, TransAm, Off-Road, & NASCAR driver
• Narrator for the film “The Speed Merchants”
• Managed ATS F1 team
• Offered Alain Prost his first F1 drive
• Wrote “The Porsche High Performance Driving Handbook”
• Wrote “Reflections on a Golden Era in Motorsport”
• Managed Porsche Owners Driving School
• Managed Porsche Driving Experience

Vic’s Porsche 908/3-007:
We will reunite Vic with the 908/3 that he drove in the 1970 Targa Florio.
