The Vancouver Island Region PCA is excited to host the Zone 6 “Escape” for 2024, combined with our second annual Wochenende (German for "Weekend") at Crown Isle. This multiregion event takes place Thursday, May 23 to Sunday, May 26, 2024. We are busy getting ready for a weekend of driving, socializing, and supporting local charities. New for this year – the weekend will also feature the very first Zone 6 TSD Rally!

Home base is Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community in Courtenay, B.C. Activities will take place across the Comox Valley and beyond, where we’ll explore the hidden gems of Vancouver Island. Winding roads, ocean views and green fairways await you and your P-cars.

Main activities for the event include a Thursday evening Welcome Reception; Friday “Porsche Parking Lot Party”; organized drives and rallies on Saturday; and a Gala Dinner & Live Auction on Saturday night. There are many other activities in the works that may interest you, from golfing to getting out on the water to see wildlife. Choose the events you wish to participate in or relax and explore the area on your own.

Fundraising will support Cops for Cancer “Tour de Rock” and the local food banks.

We are pleased to announce that the pricing is being held at $399.00 per person - the same as 2023.

Drive 1 – Elk Falls Excursion – Fun, Short Drive and Hike

We will take the old two-lane Island highway north along the coast to our first stop at Shelter Point Distillery and then off to our primary destination, Elk Falls Provincial Park and B.C. Hydro’s John Hart Dam. We’ll stop there for a short hike to the suspension bridge and a spectacular view of the falls. Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a trail with a slight grade. After our hike, we will stop for lunch in Campbell River. Participants are responsible for the cost of their lunch.

The organized portion of the drive will end at lunch, leaving time to explore the area before heading back to Crown Isle at your leisure.

One-way distance: ~75 kilometres
Return to Crown Isle: ~2:00 p.m.

Drive 2 – Discover Quadra Island – Fun, Short-ish Drive and Ferry

The cost for the ten-minute ferry trip across the Inside Passage is $22.20 per vehicle and $9.55 per passenger, which you will pay at the ferry terminal.

We will explore charming Quadra Island before stopping for a pub lunch at the historic Heriot Bay Inn. Participants are responsible for the cost of their lunch.

The organized portion of the drive will end at lunch, leaving time to explore more of the island before heading back to Crown Isle at your leisure. Return ferries run every 30 minutes back to Campbell River.

Then we’ll hit the road to our primary destination in Port Alberni, the Western Industrial Heritage Centre (this collection of vintage trucks and equipment is sure to surprise you). As it’s volunteer-driven museum, we encourage you to consider a $10 donation.
We’ll have a quick lunch for tacos (participants are responsible for the cost of lunch), where the organized portion of the drive will end. This will leave time for an optional drive around Sproat Lake and explore the area , or feel free to head back to relax before dinner.

This tiny, picturesque, and bustling village is a major destination during the summer. One of the last boardwalk settlements left on Vancouver Island, Telegraph Cove also has a rich and colourful past. The drive will begin and end at Crown Isle Resort.
