Our Charities

Since we became a region in 1996 the club has supported many charities and continues to support a number of charities on Vancouver Island. The funds are raised as part of our current major multi day & region event, Black Rock or smaller drives and 50/50 draws at events such as our annual general meeting. Since the club became a region various events have been held that raised money for our charities. In spite of the Pandemic we still managed to include raising funds for a couple of charities. With the return of Black Rock in 2022 we look forward to once again raising more money for those charities.

Current Charities

Christmas Dinner 2022
We’ve made a tradition of hosting a holiday dinner in December to raise funds for CFAX Santa’s Anonymous. The event is very well attended and we’ve managed to raise more funds each year. We hosted this year’s event December 4th 2022 at the Uplands Golf Course, a private golf club in Victoria situated on 120 scenic acres.

We raised $10,000 total. $2,700 in raffle sales, $4,000 from our donations page, and a $3,000 member donation. We presented the charity with a cheque

Port Alberni 2022 Charity Drive
Western Vancouver Island Industrial Heritage Society $325.00
Gold River 2022 Charity Drive
     Gold River Food Network $500.00
25th anniversary Porsches on the Pitch - 2022
$945 for the Shawnigan Lake Historical Society

Black Rock Oceanfront Resort 2022
Black Rock is our premier multi-region weekend getaway which took place May 12th - 15th 2022. Porsche enthusiasts descended on the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet, British Columbia to participate in autocross, high-performance driver educa-tion track events, wine tastings, Show and Shine, and local drives on and off road, to take in the breathtaking scenery. Ucluelet is located on the Pacific Ocean side of Vancouver Island tucked away in old growth forest.

We raised $18,712 for Cops of Cancer and $7,724 for the Ucluelet Volunteer Fire Brigade (UVFB) for a total of $26,436. We presented each charity with a cheque at the end of the weekend during our fare-well dinner. Funds were raised by providing meals to members like hamburger lunch-es at the track, a pancake breakfast, and a salmon BBQ dinner. Members pay the UVFB directly. Funds for Cops for Cancer were raised via silent and live auction items.

Christmas Dinner 2021 - was held at the Uplands Golf Club in Victoria and raised $7,500 for Santas Anonymous.
